guest blogger le closet | ring thing

I’m a big fan of small dainty rings. Thin gold stackable finger and knuckle rings are what I wear most often, but once in a while I like to throw on a statement ring. I like the look of a simple outfit with something that stands out on the finger. It’s an easy way to dress up any outfit and always a conversation piece.

I’ve put together ten rings that can easily be worn by everyone and sure to make that statement. My favourites are number three and nine.

1/ Twin skull ring, Alexander McQueen
2/ Mariafrancescapepe articulated cage ring, Urban Outfitters
3/ Gold embrance ring, Anthropologie
4/ Summer in the city ring in bronze, Shopruche
5/ Rutilated Quartz and Gold ringCaelen Ellis
6/ Olive leaf ring, Tiffany & Co.
7/ Whistles cube ring, Asos
8/ Knights of new york orchard shield, Shopbop
9/ Goldtone Arty ovale ring, Saint Laurent
10/ Maison martin margiela silver ring, Shopbop

Guest blogger le closet || Gift guide

It's about this time a year when I start making my Christmas shopping list. It's such a fun time,  finding the gifts, wrapping them and then seeing the receivers face when they open it. This time a year can also be stressful, which is unfortunate as it can loose it's meaning. The idea of gift giving is not to find the most expensive item, it can even be as simple as a card, or a home made batch of cookies. The idea is the gesture and thought behind it.
I've rounded up twenty items that can easily be given as a small gift, paired or as stocking suffers. From beauty products, to a good book or a cute traveling mug that keeps your hands warm. And all for twenty dollars or less. Happy shopping friends, and don't forget the hugs...those are free!

Guest blogger le closet | Little black dress

‘Tis the season to shop for a new dress!

Everyone needs a new dress this time of year, whether it be for a Holiday work party or a New Years eve bash. It’s always fun to dress up, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to round up some of my favourite little back dresses (I can't believe I never posted about this before?!).

These frocks are perfect for the holiday season, but can easily be accessorized to create different outfits throughout the year. Dress it up or dress it down, everything you have ever heard about the "little black" dress is true; It is classic, flattering and timeless. It’s easy to create that perfect look, no matter your style, body or budget. Invest in something that fits well and accentuates your features and it will surely become a piece that you wear time and time again.

All that’s left is the champagne!

Happy holidays and happy shopping!

guest blogger le closet || hello fall

Saying farewell to summer is always bittersweet. Hanging up the swimsuit can be quite sad, but I know it only means pulling out my boots and leather jacket. This is about the time of year that I completely clear my closet of summer pieces to re-introduce all the fall and winter ones, and although there are still sunny days ahead, September is always the perfect time to introduce transitional pieces that will easily add that Autumn touch. It's always important to also see what basics are missing from your wardrobe as well as adding extra unique ones like a new pattern.

Here I've compiled items that can easily be transitioned now and right into fall and winter.

A FEW TIPS...

guest blogger alyssa wilson || watermelon vodka

I have been trying to come up with a light and refreshing cocktail this summer. I remembered on several occasion of people who would inject vodka into a whole watermelon and so I thought this would make a lovely summer drink. Since I like the idea of having fruit pieces in my drinks I decided watermelon and vodka was the way to go. After making up something with what I had on hand in my kitchen I began researching actual recipes on Pinterest. They are pretty similar and easily altered to your own taste. See this recipe as well as this one {with gin and grapefruit} that I cannot wait to try. You can also make this a sweeter cocktail by adding one of your favorite syrups. I love the flavors that Torani offers.

One. Cut up watermelon in small cubes and place in a mason jar or any other jar that can be sealed.{not quite half full}.
Two. Fill with vodka {just enough to cover the watermelon cubes}.
Three. Let sit in fridge for at least an hour before serving or even better for a couple of days.
Four. Once it's ready to drink fill with sparkling water or club soda and enjoy. C'est simple non?!

The best part? Eating the watermelon at the end. Enjoy!
